This is the second book in the Ruby Redfort series.  Take Your Last Breath is probably my second favourite in the series.

Ruby, a 13-year-old genius, is still working for the secret spy agency Spectrum 8.  After rr-no-2wrapping up her last case, Ruby is now working on the beginning of another.  This case has an awesome code in it that, with a little bit of time, can be quite easily understood.  The mystery of the case that Ruby is solving is one that involves mysterious under-water sounds.

The code in this book was created by Dr Thomas Gardner instead of Marcus Du Sautoy as it is in the rest of the series.

I would definitely recommend this book and all the rest of the series.  It is quite long and takes a little bit of time to understand, but in the end the reading is totally worth it.  Just to elaborate a bit on my point about it taking a bit of time to understand, you have to read a few bits a few times to make sense of them and so it requires a lot of patience.  I would rate it 10/10 for being an excellent and challenging book that I would recommend to over-10-year-olds.
